Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO) was established in 2002 by Avip Priatna Mag. Art and Prof. DR. Toeti Heraty Roosseno. Comprising professional musicians from various cities in Indonesia, the Jakarta Concert Orchestra has staged a series of concerts featuring works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Miaskovsky, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Haydn, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Weber, Fauré, E. Grieg, Delibes, Strauss, Saint-Saëns, Bizet, Jenkins, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Korsakov, Raff, Zhanhao, Gounod, Schumann, John Williams, Rutter, Falla, Smetana, Sibelius, Mangiagalli, Vierne, Dukas, Poulenc, Donizetti, Puccini, Offenbach, Mahler, Orff, Mascagni, Barber, Verdi, Rossini, Giordano, Keiko Yamada, Gershwin, Bernstein, Stolz, Fuchs, Vivaldi, Claude-Michel Schönberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dvořák, Britten, Szentpali, Dobrogosz, Stevie Wonder, Jarome Kern, Richard Rogers, Ron Miller, Burton Lane, Bart Howard, John Kander, John Deacon, Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Mike Moran, Roger Taylor, McCartney, John Lennon, and Michael Jackson.
Avip Priatna Mag. Art. is one of Indonesia's finest conductors. He studied orchestral conducting under the renowned maestro Leopold Hager and choral conducting with Prof. Gunther Theuring at the MDW - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in Vienna, Austria, with support from the Austrian government and a scholarship from the Rotary Club. In Austria, he joined some of Vienna's best choirs and served as an assistant conductor for the Wiener Jeunesse Choir. In 1998, he completed his Magister Artium at the MDW with a scholarship from the Parahyangan Catholic University.
Avip is the founder, music director, and conductor of the renowned Indonesian orchestra, Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO), and two world-class choirs, the Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) and The Resonanz Children's Choir (TRCC). He also established The Resonanz Music Studio (TRMS), where he teaches vocal and conducting techniques and trains his orchestra and choirs.
In addition to being recognized as a master orchestral conductor, Avip is also one of the world's top choir conductors. He has led two choirs he founded to win the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (EGP), setting a standard for many choirs in Indonesia. He is possibly the only conductor in the world who simultaneously owns, leads, and nurtures a renowned orchestra and two EGP-winning choirs. Under his leadership, the Batavia Madrigal Singers have repeatedly won awards for best conductor and best interpretation of a song in international choir competitions. Avip led the Batavia Madrigal Singers to victory as the WINNER of the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (EGP) in 2022, and together with The Resonanz Children’s Choir, they achieved the WINNER title in the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in 2018.

In 2020, Avip Priatna was selected as one of the honorary members of the Associazione Nazionale Direttori di Coro Italiani (ANDCI) - or the National Association of Italian Choir Conductors, alongside other world-renowned legendary conductors such as Morten Lauridsen (United States), Eric Whitacre (United States), John Rutter (United Kingdom), Javier Busto (Spain), Gary Graden (Sweden), and Nadezhda Averina (Russia).
In 2021, Avip received the Decoration of Honour in Gold (Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich) from the Government of the Republic of Austria. This is one of the highest honors from the country, awarded for his relentless efforts in supporting cooperation and cultural exchange between Indonesia and Austria.
In 2022, Avip Priatna was appointed as an Executive Committee member of the Asian Choral Association from Indonesia.
